Hannah Green working on one of her final rug tufting pieces. Hannah’s work reflects the natural world in an abstract way through textiles. She borrows colours and textures from nature to transform them into works of art. She will be incorporating braiding and embroidery techniques into her rugs.
Hannah Green’s current studio space. She started exploring rug tufting and combining it with the other techniques she’s been working with.
Some photos from today’s photo shoot in Bates Mill featuring the work of Steph Roberts, Hannah Green, Heather Walkinshaw, Sarah Wells, Claire England and Kim Searle.
Hannah Green’s work crosses the boundaries between various textile contexts. Her elaborate and tactile sculpture textiles could be used for a variety of different scenarios and places. They’re made from a whole mass of different fabrics and are visually striking. She is inspired by the natural world but doesn’t want to create work that’s simply replicating nature.
